Since the signature of the Relationship Agreement between UNIDO and the European Union (EU) in January 1993, collaboration has increased, and the two Institutions are now supporting the Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) of more than 100 countries all over the world.

The regular high-level policy dialogues between UNIDO and the EU and the various joint policy frameworks on development, environment and resource efficiency, agribusiness and industrial cooperation have stimulated the cooperation between respective teams in Brussels and in many countries.
