UNIDO Brussels liaison office plays an active role in Belgium

UNIDO's expertise is aligned with Belgium’s development cooperation priorities on Inclusive growth, Social development, Environment, Consolidation of society, and conflict prevention, and Digital for Development (D4D). UNIDO is well positioned to provide policy advice and promote of tools and statistics to shape and implement tailored industrial strategies and policies to boost green growth, such as Industrial Analytics Platform (IAP)UNIDO Statistics Data PortalEnhancing the Quality of Industrial Policies (EQuIP). In terms of geographical focus and partnership, UNIDO has numerous Field Offices covering Belgium’s 14 development cooperation partner countries in Africa, of which there are 12 Country Programmes (CPs) in implementation and Programs for Country Partnership (PCP) covering Senegal, Morocco, and Rwanda. UNIDO also takes a leading role in the implementation of the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III).  

UNIDO participates in the Global Science, Technology and Innovation Conference (G-STIC) - 2019 November

BRUSSELS, 20 November 2019 – Representatives of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have participated in the third Global Science, Technology and Innovation Conference (G-STIC) in Brussels from 20-22 November. Under the lead of the Belgian research and technology organization VITO, G-STIC brought together relevant stakeholders from the areas of science, technology and innovation to discuss ways in which accelerating the transition to a wide-scale deployment of market-ready integrated technological solutions can impact the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

BRUSSELS, 30 November 2018 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) participated in the second edition of the Global Science, Technology and Innovation Conference (G-STIC), which took place from 27 to 30 November 2018 in Brussels. Organized by VITO, a Belgian research and technology institution, G-STIC brought together leading Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) stakeholders to discuss how new technologies can facilitate the implementation of the 2030 Development Agenda.
